Been a lot of talk about crime and guns and their supposed relationship of late. Nothing much new about any of the talk. The right is dead set against any new anti-gun measures and the left continues to lie about their true goals and motivations for wanting to pass more legislation that will do nothing to curb crime or, as they say the new regs are intended, to prevent one time spree killers. I have looked at what a lot of folks have to say on the issues and sub issues. Lots of folks from all walks of life and from all across the nation. I have come to the conclusion, after two weeks of intense study and participation in the debate, that the extinction of the human race is inevitable.
Now reading that last line, what is your automatic assumption about my stance on guns? For or against? I am going to make own assumption and conclude that many of you have guessed I am on the left side of the debate. You could not be more wrong. I believe in a persons right to own or possess firearms as long as they are obeying the current laws and have met the current requirements. Yet that automatic assumption is one of the reasons I have reached my conclusion on our extinction being over the horizon. You see, folks have not the intelligence any longer to wait on that next line of type. They make their assumption and move right on into telling one why they are wrong. Simply put; never in all my 46 years have I encountered so many idiots who were so absolutely sure of their own brilliance.
I participated in a discussion on the causes of crime or what makes one turn to crime just this past evening. As you may expect, the comments pretty much ran the gamut of socio-economic reasons. Fact is, I seemed to see every reason under the sun that may cause one to turn to crime, except of course, the real one. This is when it started to become clear to me that liberalism had won the battle for the souls of Americans. Not a single comment could I find that alluded to the actual person making the choice to be a criminal. Choosing to commit crimes has nothing to do with anyone's socio-economic status. People choose to commit crimes either because they want attention or because it is simply the easy way out. I actually read a comment that stated television commercials cause people to become criminals because the commercials show people living lifestyles or using products that one cannot afford. This causes a feeling of lack of self worth in the individual which in turn, causes them to commit crimes. Seriously? Have we sunk so low or, is liberalism so ingrained within us that we gauge our self worth by comparing ourselves to fictional characters on television? Not only do I not have an iPhone, I really do not want one. Not only do I not have a fancy car or a fancy house, I frankly do not miss either one. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that drinking Bud Light isn't gonna improve my opportunity for promiscuous sex either. Now a liberal jerk off will say; “why mention them then?” Well that is easy dumb ass, this is a column, to not mention these salient facts would leave a rather large hole in the story. That small point though, the smart ass remark that would surely come, is another reason I despair for our race. What 4th grade mentality produces such minds or the lack of wit behind them? Yet that is exactly what one must learn to accept when blogging on the net or risk going insane. Ones sense of worth comes from within ones self, not from without. If television plays that large a role in your sense of self worth, it is long past time you turned that sucker off.
One genius in that same discussion had a real winner, Somali pirates. Apparently there is a correlation between the rise of Somali pirates and over fishing by the EEEEEEEville corporate fishing boats. Seems that because the fish are no longer abundant along the shores of Somali, the fisherman must now become pirates. They have no other choice I guess. All wild game on shore is dead, must be right? Farming must be out of the question, the land is barren surely. Couldn't possibly be that most of the country is lawless to begin with and these guys are just going with the easier game, could it? Couldn't be because pirating is far easier than the other options? Nah, they had absolutely no choice but to turn to crime as a means of supporting themselves. Again, what 4th grade mind conceives of this @!$%#? When one actually has no other choice except crime, you are not a criminal, you are a revolutionary or rebel. Other wise, one is just inventing or grabbing the easiest excuse for outrageous behavior one can find. So is that the goal? To remove all responsibility from the individual? To make one blameless for any criminal act? The answer is, yes and no. Yes the person is naturally blameless, I mean, they didn't ask to be born, right? No,we have all kinds of inanimate @!$%# we can blame. Guns commit murder. Lack of a Bentley steals cars. Lack of a 72” plasma screen burglarizes. Cocaine robs little ole ladies. Feeling down about all this? Well besides there being a myriad of pharmaceuticals for that condition, we have another inanimate object to the rescue....LAWS!
Now before you get excited or fooled into thinking we are fixing to address the actual problem take a deep breath, we are not going to be doing that. Instead, what we will be doing, is writing legislation and passing laws, rules and, regulations that affect only you, the person who has chosen not to be a criminal. Do you recall the heady days when you could pull up to the gas pump and pump your gas and then go in and pay? Criminals took care of that @!$%#. Remember when going shopping didn't include a strip search? When going to school didn't automatically qualify you for a pat down, bag inspection and locker search? Criminals fixed those problems too. Can you recall the bygone days when you were not on camera 24 hours a day no matter your location? Crooks and killers solved that dilemma for you. How about getting a job that didn't involve pissing in a cup, credit check and, submitting a DNA sample? Yea buddy, laws work for you, the law abiding citizen. Why just yesterday I saw a 1016 page law chasing a shoplifter down the street. Once more the 4th graders have taken over. I wonder how many are aware of a Supreme Court decision that says law enforcement is under no obligation to protect the lives of citizens? Fear not however, criminals will be treated with the utmost respect and their rights shall not violated or infringed. It makes me wonder, quite often, if perhaps lawmakers and law enforcement are not trying to send us a message. I certainly feel at times I am in the wrong line of work. So here we see more coddling of the criminal. More degrading and debasing of the law abiding citizen for the sake of God only knows what, since crime is alive and well all over. Rather like prison, only we have a little more rope.
You are probably wondering at this point how all of this relates to the latest gun control debate. Simple really, those same 4th graders I have been mentioning through out are now large and in charge and are proposing yet more ridiculous rules and regulations to keep guns out of the hands of you, the law abiding citizen. Some of their proposals are and have been on the books across the country for years. Still, there are idiots out there that believe anyone can walk into Wal-Mart and buy a fully automatic Uzi right off the shelf. Still others think that allowing folks to buy guns but not purchase ammunition is a winner. Some in congress think it would be a hoot to force manufacturers to re-tool entire plants and redesign all magazine fed weaponry to accept 4-6 round magazines. This in the midst of economic chaos across the country and soaring unemployment. There are some though, a Feinstein comes to mind, that are actually telling the truth and saying they want to ban all guns and confiscate those already in circulation. Which is the liberal's ultimate goal regardless of the bull@!$%# they keep putting in press releases. They are even proposing little Johnny undergo a full background check to receive a firearm as gift from his father or as an heirloom from a family member. Where our bankrupt government plans on getting the money for all this is something only they know. They already have a trillion dollar health plan to implement. None of the new proposals deal with the criminals in any way. No tougher sentencing, no mandatory sentencing unless perhaps some poor schmucks son or daughter gets a blowtorch and cuts a hole in Mom and Dad's gun safe and uses the weapons inside in the commission of a crime. Mom and Dad may receive some mandatory punishment for that crime if liberals have their way. The criminal will probably get a psych evaluation and a heavier dosage of the meds that sent them out of control in the first place. Then it is right back out into the world for those poor abused souls.
Liberals have spent decades denying the actual cause of the problem, people. They do this for reasons only known to themselves but we can speculate. The fact that some few of these spree killers have been registered democrats may have something to do with it. Or maybe they are simply appealing to the criminal element in the hopes of garnering another vote or 12. People are the problem though. People commit these crimes, other people see that little is done to those folks so they get on the bandwagon. Yet it is not only the criminals, it is also the people with these 4th grade mentalities. The imbeciles that write the laws who have never even held a gun. The people with graduate degrees in Mind @!$%#ing who come up with all the brilliant excuses. Teachers who specialize in narcissism training and swear that Billy, who stood up in class two weeks before he went on a killing spree and shouted “I will kill you all” was just having a bad day. Businesses that would rather insult their customers and piss on their dignity. Parents who are so terrified of their own children that they cow to the child's every demand even if grenades for Christmas struck them as little extreme. Committing a crime is an individual choice regardless of ones circumstance, always has been. I know this for a fact. I know, because according to all the liberal criteria, I should, by now, be in the annals of the infamous. You see; As child I was sexually molested, twice. My father, whom I love and adore, beat me pretty damned good on occasion. My folks split up when I was young for a time. I have a genius level IQ and dropped out of high school. I have been diagnosed with moderate to severe mental health issues. I am a former drunk. I have abused drugs. I have spent considerable time homeless. I am poor and unemployed for the moment. I am not particularly happy with much of anything going on in the world. I have been beaten by the police and wronged by the “justice” system. I have been institutionalized more than once. I own firearms and have for over 25 years. Outside of military service, I have never even been accused of a violent act much less killed anyone. That is the choice I make every day of my life and, outside of the mentally deranged who should not be allowed within sight of a firearm, it is a choice anyone can make if they are willing to do so. It is not guns that are the problem nor socio-economic disparity. The problem, and what, I believe, is going to lead to our eventual extinction, are the people who would use these things as weapons, as political guns to wield, without the slightest intention of addressing them in an intelligent manner. Not to mention the idiots of this world who believe that because an individual wishes to own a firearm for whatever reason, defense, sport, gastrointestinal supplementation, also wishes to own nuclear weapons and to park a B-2 bomber in their yard.
PS: Be warned gun owners. This is their next step. They will identify some gene or chromosome that is present in those who own firearms(and everyone else in the country but, you don't need to know that). At which point the want to own firearms will be proclaimed to be a disease! Then the pill pushers will step in and you will be next in line in the zombification of America.
