Now I Can Mourn My Countrymen..............

Mon May 2, 2011 1:53 PM EDT

By tesla013

......... Bin Laden is dead. Thank You my brothers and sisters in the military for bringing us this victory against those who would try and destroy us. I always knew it was only a matter of time. Last night at the late hour of near 11pm The President informed the country that Bin Laden was finally history. Now he will, of course, attempt to take credit for it. A war that has had little or no support from the liberal is now the liberals victory? Sure if it helps you sleep at night sure. A media whom 10 years ago were informing us that Bush would never get Bin Laden, but Bush went ahead and set the wheels in motion anyway. 10 years ago the media asserted that Bin Laden was more than likely already dead killed in a bombing in the mountains of Afghanistan/Pakistan. Bin Laden was after all they said a very sick man who probably could not have survived. The media 10 years ago liked to show us pictures of newly fallen soldiers in the war on terror on a nightly basis, PBS still carries on that tradition today. Seems they did not die in vain after all. I will not say this is a victory for every American because it is not. It is a victory for every American who never wavered in their support for this hunt. It is a victory for every American who never backed down in the face of the liberal onslaught of laying guilt and shame upon those who always believed what we were doing was right. It is a victory for the victims of that horrible day, a day I will never forget as long as I live. I can still see them falling from the towers...... This will never be a victory for those who second guessed, for those vilified, for those who cursed America, no matter who they may be. And Mr.President with all due respect to your office and to you, this is not your victory either, spare us the shame of having watch you try and use it for such. But thanks for the heads up.

I have waitd a long time to mourn for those who died that tragic day. No tears until our enemy lies dead at our feet.

As for the rest you know how I feel.

That was a cheap shot at Obama Tesla.

Who is the commander in chief of the armed forces of America? I would have thought you had it in you.

I was wrong. Maybe you can make the irrational leap to Obama thinking this is a "liberal victory". I can't.

I served in the US Army. I will not have a CIC use this as political capital which apparently he is already doing. The concept of honor runs very deep with me. I had hoped it ran as deeply with our President. He had the choice, he made the choice.

How is he "apparently doing" anything of the kind? By mentioning the fact the he gave the order to go in yesterday?

Is that some kind of bragging? You saw the coverage of his remarks, did he appear to you to be bragging?

Explaing to America how the operation developed was some kind of campaign speech in your mind?

We shall see clarke. Given the history of politics in Washington I think my opinions are ?relevant? (cannot think of the word I want, damn it). My first inkling of this is what other order do you think he could have given? Could you imagine a "no lets wait." and missing the opportunity and it gets out to the public?

Yes I saw his statement. He could won some fans with just the facts i.e. he is dead this is how and when. And a simple I thought it might help some sleep better tonight. And goodnight.

Things we should do together- take a moment of silence to remember fallen troops, their familes and those who fight everyday to protect us.

We owe it to all of the to not do this sniping at each other.

That's all I have to say today. I am sad to see what is going on here.

I'm saddened to have felt a need to say it, as well.

Liberals made their beds now they must lie in them. Consequences for actions, liberals are unfamiliar with the concept I know. But I have not forgotten all the vitriol that was put forth in the months following the start of the War on Terror. Forgive? of course I do. Forget? something I shall never do.

And this justifies you infering Obama made this a campaign issue? How can you blame anybody else for your own thoughts Tesla?

I'm sorry, but I am dissappointed in you today.

This is a promise Obama kept. He said he would capture or kill Osama, and he did. He made it a priority, he oversaw the intel, and he authorized the plan. I'm sorry that you think so little of liberals that you had to diminish this event in this way. This is extremely dissapointing. I'd have been happy if Bush had succeeded in capturing or killing Osama, why can't you give Obama the slightest amount of credit for his part?

Because I will never forget the disparagement offered to any who remained in and began this effort with their support. I do not give credit to the President for doing his job nor doing it right. Both should be done without thought nor expectation of praise. If anyone deserves credit it is the people who had the guts to take action and remain with it throughout. And to Team6 for a job well done. And as I said on another seed if you were not behind this 100% from the beginning of the trip there is damn sure no room for you now.

I've said this elsewhere, but I feel it is right to say here also.

I give credit to President Obama for having the sense to go along with whoever was really running this operation. I also believe that he really did want to get Bin Laden for more than just political gain.He took a risk, a major one, if this attempt had failed or proven to be launched on false intelligence and Obama wouldn't have a political career worth salvaging.

He is quite obviously trying to take as much of the credit and make as much political hay as he can during the euphoria that is currently sweeping the country.

There are certain truths that should not be forgotten about. He talks about keeping his promise to get Bin Laden. Well, he had the courage to do things the Bush way, which means he broke another campaign promise, the one dealing with the idea of not invading another country's territory. He also used information gotten from Gitmo under the Bush administration.

Getting credit for this accomplishment will probably give Obama a temporary boost in the polls, it really is not going to be that much of a factor in 2012. We all know that the credit goes to a dedicated military officer, or spook and special team of American men and women.

Somebody ran this operation for the last ten years and brought it to this conclusion, it wasn't Bush or Obama. Bush did the right thing by going after Bin Laden and Obama did the right thing by authorizing this expedition, both actions were presidential.

Just in case I didn't make my self perfectly clear, Obama and the Democratic campaign machine are doing everything possible, with the aide of the media to make this a campaign issue. To me it is just another "distraction of the moment" issue.
